"Teaching a way of communication that works for everyone"

Growth cic are hoping to deliver inclusive outdoor physical activity sessions designed for families, young people and individuals who face barriers to accessing traditional sports environments.
Our sessions combine structured sport, functional fitness exercises and cooperative team games to support physical health, confidence and social connection. Activities are delivered in local parks and outdoor spaces, making them accessible, low-cost and welcoming for people who may not feel comfortable in traditional sports settings.
Who These Sessions Support
Our programmes prioritise participation for groups who often experience barriers
to regular physical activity, including:
Home-educating families and EBSA and EOTAS families
Children and young people who are neurodivergent
Families on low incomes
Single-parent households
Individuals who are currently inactive
Young people who struggle with confidence or social participation
Sessions are designed to be inclusive and adaptable so participants of
different ages, abilities and confidence levels can take part comfortably.
What Happens During Sessions
Activities may include:
Adapted traditional sports and team sport drills
Bodyweight strength and conditioning exercises
Cardiovascular fitness circuits
Cooperative team games that build communication and teamwork
Outdoor movement challenges designed to build confidence and resilience
Exercises are scaled to suit different fitness levels, ensuring participants feel safe, supported and capable.
A Different Approach to Sport
Growthcic combines physical activity with
a connection-based approach that supports participants to:
Build confidence in group environments
Develop communication skills
Work cooperatively with others
Feel safe and included during activities
The aim is not competition, but participation, confidence and long-term engagement with movement.
Why Outdoor Movement Matters
Research consistently shows that children and families from disadvantaged backgrounds are less likely to access structured sport due to cost, transport barriers and lack of inclusive provision.
By offering accessible outdoor sessions in community spaces, Growthcic aims to help reduce these barriers and create opportunities for families to enjoy movement together.
Qualified Delivery
Sessions are led by our lead facilitator, Craig Plowman.
Craig has extensive experience in youth work and has been mentoring young people for the past seven years. He has worked one-to-one with young people in both school and community settings, as well as delivering group work within schools.
He also has experience facilitating larger groups of young people and families, having worked as a ParkPlay coach for North Somerset Council and as a lead facilitator for a home education cooperative.
Craig is a qualified Personal Trainer and holds a Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work.
Alongside this, he leads the Growth CIC programme “Connecting with Needs”, which helps young people and families understand the underlying needs that drive behaviour and supports them to communicate with greater awareness and compassion.
This combination of experience allows sessions to support both physical wellbeing and social development, creating inclusive activities where participants can build confidence, connection and healthy movement habits.
